Early Dreams: Epics for a New World
Baroque music, Mexico and the singular destiny of Latin America's first major poet, Sor Juana Ines de la Cruz (1648-1695), are closely interwoven in this new and exciting work.
With new readings and improvisations, both instrumental and vocal, based on the famous diferencias by 17th century Mexican composers Ribayaz and Murcia, this concert will feature intense dialogues between the baroque guitar, Persian setar, voice, viola da gamba and percussion.
An ideal opportunity to discover the passionate poems of one of the greatest figures of Hispanic literature, which Constantinople and its guests will set to music.
Constantinople draws its inspiration from the music of the Mediterranean, Medieval and Renaissance Europe, and Middle-Eastern musical traditions.
This ensemble presents an exotic musical journey, born of a wellspring of transformation and integration
of diverse traditions.
